Feeling Raw Emotions

Today is day 66 being 99% Raw. I have lost 22lbs. to date.=-) I am happy and I know that my body is healing, and that I am taking good care of my mind , body, and spirit. Since I have gone Raw, my dreams have increased & there's more clarity around them . Yesterday I woke from a dream that left me feeling emotional. So I was the witness of "me" being funky yesterday. Then last night I broke down crying. I cried for at least 2 hours straight. I was healing so many things that I never allowed myself to feel. I even went into the thoughts and emotions my Mom felt while I was in her. I never realized how much food and weight was my safety net in the world. I was aware, but not in depth. I allowed myself to cry and witnessed it. Knowing that it is just a movie on the movie screen called human life. I surrounded myself with the most beautiful unconditional love and allowed myself to go through what I was experiencing.
As I lose the weight the emotions can be so "in my face". Which is new for me, a once cooked food emotional eater. I know that it is wonderful that this healing is taking place, freeing myself from so much inner turmoil. While I was eating the cooked food I wasn't even aware of all these emotions and patterns. I was making myself comfortably numb. It is good that I am finally looking at all of this instead of hiding behind food and old patterns. I can let go and just be.
Freedom=-)

Love always

  1. Congratulations on your success! I've tried eating strictly raw foods for a couple of weeks and I started receiving complements on my figure! What a boost of confidence? I didn't stay on it tho. I love reading about various eating habits so now I incorporate a little of the French eating habits with a whole lot more fresh fruits and vegetables. The key I believe to following any kind of diet is RECIPES!! Man there are some awesome foods I've eaten thanks to the raw food books! I work at a school and let me tell you the salads and vegetables served are horrible! No flavor whatsoever!!! It is so important to get yourself a raw foods recipe book to truly enjoy the benefits of raw food eating! I've never tasted such wonderful salads in my life! You may think it's only vegetables thrown together, but once you learn different techniques, you'll never eat a boring salad again!

  2. Wow! What a great post. Yes, the whole raw experience has much going for it but not many people discuss the emotions that accompany the change. I too cried quite a bit in my first year of raw. It's been three years now and the changes keep coming. This is such an accumulative dietary lifestyle. Congrats on your ongoing success!

  3. Great post - I have attempted to go raw several times and always feel wonderful when I do. I can't seem to keep on track with it, hopefully reading the journey of others will help me with mine. Today is a new day.

  4. Thank you all for your support!!!It means a lot to me=-}

    muzikgirl~I agree about the recipe books. They are fun but my body is moving towards simpler foods! WHich is good for now, We will see what happens. It is important to listen to your body and not get caught up in the rights and wrongs of a way of eating. For me, my body mind and soul tell me to go this way. So I am listening.=-}

    Joy`I find it very helpful to have reached out and found communities for the Raw Foods. Others stories helps you know that it is "normal" what you are going through. I also always feel wonderful when I am Raw as well. This is the longest and I think I have got it this time!! It feels different.

    Love always

  5. Congrats to you! I'm always glad to hear people find success with raw, even in small doses. It took me awhile before I got into it but glad I did. I'm not very raw now being pregnant but I'll get back there again. :) Congrats again!
